Mañana or Not

Below is our scholarship project schedule timeline giving you an idea on critical dates we all should be aware of.

Please click on the image below to get a full view.
You all have received the latest fund update and quite easily you can tell some of us are a little behind in their pledge payments, hence we are short of our target goal.

I can only hope that all of you who have not made their pledge payments are just inhibiting the old “Mañana” habit, exercising their procrastinating style so to speak, and not for any other reasons.

Please continue to support our effort to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged kids like Patrick and Angelyn. Below are details of our SDA Batch ’78 bank account:

Banco de Oro
SM City Bicutan Branch
Dona Soledad Ave corner West Service Road
Bicutan, Paranaque City 1700

Account Name: St. Dominic Academy Batch ’78 Alumni Association, Inc.
Peso Account No: 152-801-2794

OR personally deliver your donations to Eva Fajardo/Paperbox Store/Rowena Castillo.

Please make sure to clearly indicate your intention that the donation is meant for this particular scholarship project.

More importantly, always obtain a receipt for all your donations. Also, notify us of your payment via email at ediboyd@yahoo.com or egfajardo61@yahoo.com.

I thank you all in advance for understanding my concerns. I sure hope all is well with you and family.

“On-Target”

Dear Classmates & Friends,

I am very pleased to tell you that in spite of an astonishing but somewhat disappointing low percentage (just under 20%) participation from alumni members, still, we were able to meet our targeted goal for the proposed Night High School Scholarship Project. Suffice it to say, that if only majority of us participated, there’s no doubt in my mind we can do a lot more.

Thanks in part to all those alumni (automatic & honorary) members who submitted their pledge forms, and in particular, to an anonymous donor, albeit not truly a member, but wholeheartedly offered support without qualms or hesitations.

In other words, the efforts we have exerted so far to try to make a difference in the lives of two underprivileged kids are not lost at all!

In the next few days, all those who made their pledges will be receiving an email detailing the full mechanics this scholarship project entails. Instructions and payment procedures will also be included in the email so that you may all start fulfilling your pledges as soon as possible.

Thank you to all for understanding that your total commitment to this project is very much valued, needed, and expected in order for us to succeed in the actual implementation.

I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge those who were not able to offer their financial support at this time for one reason or another. I am confident and hopeful that next time, you will all be in a better position, ready, able, interested, and/or willing to make a commitment to similar projects or undertakings. Needless to say, that at any time, your support, financial or otherwise, is always welcome.

Lastly, let’s be proud of our batch, because we did not let ourselves down. It was not an easy ride but we were able to meet our first challenge.

Now, I can’t wait to shake hands with our future scholars. Don’t you feel the same?

Maraming Salamat Po!

Sincerely,

Edgardo David

Last Chance

Two weeks from today we will know if all the efforts we’ve put in so far for the proposed high school scholarship project will come into fruition.

You all have between now and the end of this month to submit your pledge donation form....and make a difference.

If you are still interested, willing to participate, and you just simply procrastinate, this is your last chance to put the money where your mouth is!

All bets will be off after September 30, 2009. I promised!

It was an uneventful period between now and the last update about the status of the proposed scholarship project. Tsk tsk...not a good sign...

...not a good sign.

Results of June 28th Meeting

Last meeting resulted in more of your classmates pledging to the proposed scholarship project. Pledge forms were distributed during the meeting, filled out and submitted.

In addition, attendees unanimously agreed in principle to the mandatory annual membership fee of Php100 for classmates residing locally and $50 for those living/working abroad. Eva F will draft the Board Resolution to make it official, unless any of you has any objection.

During the meeting, Eva briefly summarized the result of the general Alumni meeting held last June 21st @ SDA. Out of the 20 ticket booklets we as a batch were assigned to, 8 of your classmates bought one booklet costing Php200 each. These are tickets being sold to help generate funds for next year’s town fiesta.

In all, it was a very productive and fun meeting with most attendees seemingly comfortable with themselves as they openly share their thoughts and ideas; something I've always encourage everyone to do.

Present in the meeting were the following peeps: Noel N, Boy B, Ariel D, Bert R, Alex R, Emy G, Vic C, Al T, Wena C, and Eva F. Pics will follow!

Next meeting is tentatively scheduled on July 19th @ Eva’s place.

Refillable Voluntary Pledge Form

It came to my attention that some of you are having trouble printing and then submitting the completed voluntary pledge form for the night high school scholarship project proposal.

To make it easier, I re-designed the form allowing you to fill in the information directly using your computer, thus eliminating the need to print and/or scan it prior to submission.

Here are the simple steps you should follow to submit your voluntary pledge form via email:

1) Save the re-designed PDF file (emailed to you) onto your local hard drive.

2) Open the saved PDF file using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader** and start typing in the information needed in the space provided.

**Note: You need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to fill out the form. Please click here to download the latest free version.

3) Save the completed form.

4) Email the completed form to ediboyd@yahoo.com OR egfajardo61@yahoo.com

Once again, thanks to all who have already submitted their forms. For those who have not made their pledges yet, please consider doing so.

The more pledges we receive the closer we get for this proposed project to come into fruition.
