A Prayer for Marina

Eternal rest, grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Marina, beloved sister of our very own Zen, passed away Wednesday morning.

Year of the Rabbit

According to Chinese calendar, 2011 is the year of the golden rabbit. Well, I have no idea what that mean. Hehehe...

What I do know is 2011 is the year most of us Batch ’78 members will be celebrating our golden years, you know, the big five-o.

In fact, some may have already celebrated theirs recently, last month maybe, quietly, as they do not want their age trumpeted over, and I cannot blame them, especially women. Some just don’t want to hear about it because it reminds them of something unpleasant to their ears :-), but some are just too proud for such an achievement, if you can call that one as such.

If I have to celebrate my 50th, pero next year kasi mas bagets ako sa inyo, I’d like it spent in a special way. How? I don’t know but one thing for sure, it will be remembered for the rest of my life.

Meanwhile
, just to digress, our two scholars are now in the tail-end of their first year of high school. From what I’ve heard, both are doing really well. I’d really like to meet them one of these days. Maybe next time I’m in town, we’ll have some bonding moment.

Road trip baby!

BTW, thanks to those who have continued to support our scholarship project by sending in their pledge money. And for those who have not, procrastinating maybe, perhaps still skeptical about it, or they have really no choice because of their financial status, the least you can do is pray that all is well in the end. I still thank you for that, with much appreciation!
