Eva & I attended the SDA General Alumni Association meeting held immediately the day after our very own April 18th meeting. It was a very interesting one as it answered a lot of questions that was heatedly discussed in my earlier posting about it, if you can still recall. ;-)
Clearly, there has been a lot of miscommunication with regards to the present standing of the association. In particular is the question whether they have current elected officers. Apparently, again from what I've pieced together from the meeting, there are existing set of officers with Ms. Digna Rueda being the actual elected President, I believe voted soon after the passing of Atty. Alto, who was then the current President.
Obviously, it was a total surprise to many of us who were present in the meeting. All this time we all thought they were no current set of officers, except for Ms. Rueda acting as the interim President.
Oh well, you learn something new everyday...isn't that nice? ;-)
The names of all the current officers will be posted here soon or in another future website I volunteered to create for the Association. I suggested during the meeting to develop a simple website to raise awareness of the Association's existence, and to open door for all alumni members anywhere in the world to be an active member and help support its primary goal to unite all batches into one common goal.
As agreed during the meeting, current officers will start working on towards drafting its own bylaws and eventually SEC-registered the organization. Even before the meeting was held, our very own Eva took the initial step of reserving the name "St Dominic Academy General Alumni Association" thru the online SEC registration. And they were sure very appreciative of her effort.
I'm really glad Eva & I were able to attend that meeting otherwise, a lot of those questions raised in my previous posting will remain un-answered.
Well, now we know! :-)

now we're getting the better and clearer picture of its status. you're one of a kind mr. webmaster and getting kinder as time passes by. it would be great to have such a website that everybody, matanda o bata, may ngipin o wala basta't minsang tumuntong at binigyang aral sa academia de sto domingo e pwedeng makasalamuha. i also want to hear from other batches at ng hindi na lang puro tayo ang nagkakabalitaktakan sa maraming bagay na dapat e pag-usapan ng karamihan. syempre, except those matters particularly affecting the batch. kudos, ka egay. mabuhay ka at alam kong marami ka pang magagawa. tuwang-tuwang sa iyo niyan si apo inggo de guzman at si sta catalina kaya ngayon pa lang kanila ka ng pinagpapala.
re: yun namang para sa atin. just like eva (and maybe the others,too) i'm also checking the SEC website. we have drafted a by-laws adaptable d'un sa character of our group. at the SEC website, there's already a format for the a. Articles of Incorporation and b. By-laws. i think the SEC format was standard for registration purposes only and may not accept any other by-laws other than that. di na tayo mahihirapan pang gumawa ng by-laws for registration purposes. but the thing is, are we going to draft another one specific of our objectives plus our implementing rules and regulations. tanong lang po!

yung mga pictures ng ating mga klasmeyt na umatend sa meeting, palagay ko lubhang pinaghahandaan ni mr. webmaster. matagal na rin naming di kayo nasisisilip, kaya syempre, lubha kaming naiinip.
ka rene, yes we will be using the standard SEC-formatted bylaws and articles of incorporation. We will just feed into it our own objectives plus whatever rules & regulations suited to our group. Eva is diligently working on it hoping it'll get registered soon. The next step once registered is to open the new bank account under Batch 78 name.
