A Better Chance

Just thought you might be interested to know about this foundation whose main objective is for the less fortunate kids to gain access to free education and health services.

You'll be proud to know that our beloved Alma Mater is participating in one of their programs, the Night High School Scholarship Program.

We all at one time or another wished to have a better chance at something. I surely remember wishing and hoping I'll be given a chance after high school to make something of my future. It wasn't much to brag about but because of programs like these, I had a better chance to help myself reach my goals in life. Well so far, I turned out quite alright...I guess!

All I’m saying is...give kids a chance!

it was truly a a timely project , i second the motion on giving these kids a chance , education is truly a treasure worth achieving thru sharing , individual donations are welcome , we at batch 78 suggested that an annual donation by all batches be encourage thru the alumni association to support the effort of those kind-hearted generous individual , hoping that our mere suggestion be considered , as the modern day saying goes ," be a blessings to others!" cheers!GODBLESS US ALL , ALWAYS!

the thing is we don't have an official alumni association formed just yet. what are weoing to do about it?

batch 78 has pledge to donate a minimum amount of P1,000.oo annually directly to the office handling the said night school, if it will not be too much to ask , all you guys residing abroad can either directly give your donation to SDA office , or thru our account but specify that the said amount is particularly for the night school. this move hopefully will start snowballing as other batches will be encouraged to join in. you can contact the SDA principal regarding this , in regards with the alumni board , there is an interim president as of present , ma'am digna rueda , ninang ni wena . i dont know what happen to the meeting they had the last time , but this move of ours is workable , its just that even the admin didnt even try to try it , but give & they will accept . we are proposing a five year plan in regards with our proposal so as to see the result during our 35th year as jubillarians come 2013. we can only do as much its up to other batches to respond and the admin to do their part in supporting and encouraging other batches in this project.

That's encouraging! At least Batch78 are making an effort to help.

However, I think people will feel more confident to donate if there's proper accounting involve. Who's handling the financial report on our end?

si ma,am claire , formerly aguirre ,is handling the night school program under the supervision of sis wilma , school directress now , si claire ay from batch 2 years ahead sa atin , my ate josie , also from that batch, kina philip mercado , jayjay santos , pati one of your utol came from the said batch, in regards with the accounting , sila kasi ang person on call ,baka they include such report during PTA meetings , even alumni meetings , kasi maraming individuals ang donor to the said program , as sponsors, on our part , kung ma-encourage let say 20 batches to donate at least 2,ooo yearly , meron agad 40,000 na additional fund to the program , and you are very right , sana merong mas accesible system in regards with the accounting , on our part , it is wena & eva whose handling the finances , we will discuss this matter comes feb 14 , as we start the monthly get-together in line to celebrate birthday celebrants of each month . this project proposal of the paperbox couple is to encourage some more of our classmates to actively participate to all our activities , a win win solution to produce more attendees , maybe a simple gathering of fun & laughter as we usually does , but this will pave the way for everyone to be active on other projects that are about to venture. sana maging mas matatag pa ang samahan ng batch natin , remember friendship built to last , and this friendship is based on mutual trust & respect. mga ladies& gentlemen ika nga , goal oriented , as in our pin , serve , develop ,& achieve. no personal vested interest, if at first we can only afford to share some jokes , so be it , a simple meal will be just fine as long as shared by each & everyone of us , then hopefully it will goes on some more workable projects , but as always , enjoying the moments of doing productive things as we all cherish each other company almost as one big happy family.cheers!

haven't heard from pareng noel asprec lately , yo bro hows down under?
by the way , yung monthly gathering ay pot luck system , bring anything kahit wala , presence is good na rin , as long as any idea of support is sustainable , with continuity , pagdating ng dec 30 , 2009 , we will meet at the SDA campus , to have a mini reunion , then asses how does our monthly meeting , contribute to the awareness , growing of attendees , able to raise special level of camaraderie among us , all in the name of making our batch a solid group , working towards common goal , and acheiving positive result on whatever endeavor we decided as a group to engage into , no matter how simple , how little the amount or effort we can contribute , we would surely enjoy each moment we share , mabuhay ang batch 78!
p.s. eva is the one making the accounting !thanks!

hi ka-batch,
i agree with joey m. first thing to do is to solidify the group and assess our strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Some kind of an evaluation of the standing group. we can not do a big and plausible project if we're not getting our acts together. as far as communication in between people, i think the blogs had done that and participation is getting stronger. thanks to the webmaster. Mahirap kasi if we're going somewhere na hindi natin kaya, our efforts will go for naught. Siguro, i evaluate natin ung resources both human and logistics. Sure our local people can draw programs on a continuing level then slowly upgrade to higher levels. Maintain and upgrade ika nga. I find it very interesting and happy for the continuous associations na ginagawa ninyo. It's good to see some new faces na nakakasama nyong muli. You're doing great folks.
Missed 'ya ol!
