English Is My Third Language

You all know what my first language is...eh ano pa, Filipino/Tagalog!

And that's where the trouble begins in my household co'z my daughter's first language is English. There were moments I feel naively humiliated by her, in a funny way, because we tend to disagree on some of the interpretations, hence, the silly but healthy arguments which I always end my retort as that:

"Well sorry sweetie, English is my third language, what is your excuse?"...Shut up! hehehe...

I always believe the key to harmony is communication. That no matter how good the intentions are, if you don't communicate it well enough for others to understand, there will be backlash and harsh, condescending, suspecting, perhaps hurting words starts to fly back & forth. The good thing about that, albeit the backlash, is that we all are communicating and sharing thoughts and feelings.

That's where humantiy is at its best!

Meanwhile, not saying a word and worst, assuming everyone understands what you are thinking will also lead to miscommunications or the lack there of. Kaya naman I tend to ask a lot, work my inquisitve minds to know what other people's intentions are. Ok lang naman na magtanong eh!

There's really no stupid questions or stupid answers, just innocent people asking innocent questions and giving innocent answers. In the end, we all just want to know the truth, the real story, without the fanfare, walang bolahan!
Just tell it like it is... the truth will always set us free.

Nowadays, there are so many ways to deliver a message to someone you love, you hate, you disagree and misunderstood with. There's email, phone calls, text messages, twitter (is that really a word), blogs, and my all-time favorite, face-to-face conversation over a cup of coffee and pan-de-sal...or San Mig and sisig! :-)

Ganun na ka-simple ang buhay natin ngayon kahit na unti-unti ng lumalabo ang ating mga mata at humihina ang ating tenga, di pa rin tayo dapat mag-alala na baka di tayo maintindihan ng iba. The point is, communication is always your path to a good night sleep and welcome the morning sunshine with a smile on your face.

Share your thoughts, your feelings, your saging!.

We all have different ideas, clash of opinions, personal ways of expressing our fears, our anger, our sadness, our love, and all that controllable emotions running our veins. And likewise, each one of us absorb those expressed feelings by someone else equally different than others. As a result, relationships develop and sometimes sadly broken, and camaraderie and animosity exists between souls. And that's not surprising...we are all human after all! I know i am...:-)

Anyway, I already mentioned both my first and third language but not the second. Do you know what that is? I'll give you a hint...can you feel the love tonight?
